Food for Thought

For the 2014-2015 academic year, RA Tommy is excited to be organizing the exploration floor, Food for Thought. This year, Food for Thought will incorporate three aspects that challenge residents to think about culinary arts in a variety of ways. First, Kitchen Basics programming will bring residents into the kitchen and give them hands on training in simple cooking techniques. Then, Bite Out of Life programming will take residents out into New York to explore the tastes of the city. Finally, Beyond The Plate programming intersects food with other discourses like race, gender, religious, and cultural studies. These three types of programming along with passive community development programs hope to expand each resident’s relationship with food on a multitude of levels.
